Adrian Buchmann is a PhD student at the Ruhr-University Bochum in Bochum, Germany where he was looking for a way to fabricate high-precision nozzles used for windowless spectroscopy.
Buchmann could manufacture the nozzles using electric discharge machining (EDM), but EDM equipment is expensive and not readily available. After discovering Projection Micro Stereolithography (PµSL) Buchmann was able to print multiple versions of the nozzles needed for his experimental setup.
