microArch S230

microArch S230 industrial 3d printer

Built for What Only 2µm Can Do

Finest Feature Resolution

True 2µm XY optical resolution enables the fabrication of micro-scale channels, walls, and features that are simply not achievable on lower-resolution systems. Parts come off the platform looking exactly like the CAD model — no interpretation, no compromise.

Exceptional Surface Quality

Surface finish of 0.4–0.8µm Ra (top) and 1.5–2.5µm Ra (side) produces parts with smooth, functional surfaces right off the printer — critical for optics, fluidics, and biomedical applications where surface integrity directly affects performance.

Advanced Print Technology

An advanced roller system spreads layers in seconds with excellent light source stability and an air-floated platform — delivering the process control and repeatability that demanding R&D and low-volume production applications require.

Specifications

Resolution x Accuracy x Precision

The microArch S230 is engineered to deliver dimensional performance at the limits of additive manufacturing. True 2µm optical resolution, ±0.2µm positional accuracy, and exceptional light source stability enable consistent fabrication of the finest micro-scale geometries across demanding applications and materials.

Features

  • Advanced roller system: Spreads resin layers in seconds, enabling build speeds up to 5× faster than conventional recoating approaches — without compromising the resolution or surface quality that 2µm printing demands.
  • High-viscosity material support: Ability to process higher-viscosity materials opens the door to stronger, more functional parts — including ceramic formulations for applications that require thermal or chemical resistance.
  • Air-floated platform: Process from mechanical vibration, ensuring the sub-micron positional accuracy the S230’s optical resolution demands is maintained across the full build.
  • Excellent light source stability: Consistent UV exposure performance across every layer and every build ensures repeatable results — critical for applications where dimensional variation between print runs is not acceptable.
  • Step-and-repeat process: Proprietary step-and-repeat optical process achieves both ultra-high resolution and effective build area — overcoming the traditional tradeoff between feature size and part scale.
  • Real time image monitoring: Integrated auto-focus and exposure compensation with real-time monitoring gives operators full visibility into the print process, enabling intervention before defects propagate through a build.

PµSL Technology

The microArch S230 is powered by BMF’s proprietary PµSL technology — an advanced additive manufacturing process that projects patterned UV light through a precision optical system to photopolymerize entire resin layers simultaneously.

By combining ultra-high-precision optics, real-time exposure control, and the air-floated platform, the S230 achieves feature resolution and positional accuracy that conventional 3D printing and even micro injection molding cannot match at equivalent lead times.

The result: complex micro-scale geometries, fine channels, and intricate three-dimensional structures — printed directly from STL with no tooling, no minimum order, and no lead time for mold fabrication.

Testimonials

As one of BMF’s first customers, we’ve been impressed by the performance of their high-resolution 3D printing solutions. While evaluating the first-generation microArch P150, we achieved accuracy unmatched by other systems in our additive lab. With its high part quality, production-ready throughput, and broader material capabilities, the microArch S350 has become a critical tool for printing high-resolution connectors for our customers.

The quality and accuracy of BMF PµSL parts is very unique, and truly mimic expensive micro molded parts, and now we can have parts ready for test within 1-2 days rather than 1-2 months, as well as reducing the huge costs associated with tooling manufacture and reworking as the new products evolve. We can also explore designs previously out of reach due to manufacturing limitations. Our main focus is to lift our prototyping capabilities to the highest possible level, both in quality and speed. BMF will help us accomplish that.

We have been looking for some time for a machine that can reliably produce parts in this size range as we were at the limits of other machines or would have to sink cost into other manufacturing methods- typical micro injection molding or other micro machining activity that can be expensive and prohibitive to R&D iterations. The ability to rapidly produce these types of parts combined with an open ecosystem is unmatched.
